Targazon Twitch Logo and UI

Targazon logo. Used on Twitch profile picture and on Steam (video game client) profile.

Description

A friend of mine wanted to start a Twitch channel and wanted a logo and some UI graphics for displaying information on his streams. Based on what he told me about what he wants his channel to be for his viewers and what I know from having played video games with him, I decided to have the logo represent the genre of games he plays on his streams while also being a recognizable symbol for viewers. I went with a double axe to form a “T” which would be the initial to his username. The axe also represents the types of genres of games he plays which are role-playing games or RPGs for short. Usually, fantasy and medieval are the themes for these games and an axe is one of the most common used items in these games so I felt it fitting to use. For the colours, my friend originally wanted a yellow and black scheme but I suggested an orange instead of yellow after he told me the games he will play are a mix of competitive and casual so I wanted to give off that vibe with the logo while also making sure it conveys that this is a gaming channel.

For the UI graphics, I used the same colours to keep the brand consistent and ensured that my friend had enough room to put the information he needs to put to showcase his follower and subscriber count.

In the end, my friend was happy with the logo as well as the UI graphics and it was also met with positive feedback from friends of his as well as a few of mine that we both know. I was happy to accept a challenge that had me do something related to gaming. It was something I haven’t done before and I wanted to design in a field I hadn’t tried before. The whole project reminded me why I love graphic design and why I originally wanted to get into it even more after I realized what the overall goal is of a designer.
